Halloween Tips and Tricks....

How to Decorate Your House
Start with scary music. Put a skelaton on your door. Make a scare crow out of old clothes. You can stuff it with newspaper or hay. Don't forget the cob webs.

How to Decorate Your Pumpkin
Use a template to mark your pumkin for easy carving. You can use an exacto knife or any small knife you have in the kitchen. Cut a hole in the back, not from the top. This way when you go to light your pumkin you don't burn yourself. Take out all the insides. Save the seeds. Wash them well, put them on a cookie sheet, sprinkle salt and bake at 350 until crispy.
Make sure you push through any cut outs you make. If you don't want to carve your pumkin, use temper paints and make fun and scary faces.

Games for halloween
Guess your pumkins weight. We won't play this with David Burd. Bobbing for apples. Fill a bucket with speggetti noodles and cover it so you can't see what is inside. Make the children stick their hands in to get their surprise.

Food for Halloween
Brain Surgery Salad: lime Jello, fruit cocktail, grated carrots, don't forget the surgical gloves.

Potato ghosts: take a large round cake decorating tip, a large bag- 14", or 16", and mashed potatoes. Pipe a mound of potatoes on a cookie sheet, use black beans for the eyes..

Make your own chips: take a flour tortilla, your favorite Halloween cookie cutters, brush the cut outs with olive oil. Bake.

Worms on a bun: Take hot dogs, cut into long thin strips, broil or boil until done. They will curl up as they cook. But your "worms" on a bun.

Dessert:
Chocolate lollipops. Use summer coating chocolate. Never use excess heat. Never use water. Melt and pour in your mold. If you want to color your chocolate, use only candy colors, not icing colors.

Make a cauldron cake from a Wilton ball pan. When you make brown or black icing start with chocolate icing instead of white.

Cake design
To transfer a drawing on your cake. Take the drawing, trace on a piece of parchment paper with a pensil. Using the paper pensil side down, take piping gel, with a very small round cake decorating tip, trace the drawing with the piping gel. When finished, take the drawing and gently rest it on top of your iced cake. Touch the design gently and when you remove the parchment paper you will see an outline of your design.
